blag?

so here it is.

for Cinematic Multimedia I am required to maintain a video blag. on this blag, I will have all my projects posted. they are originally hosted on vimeo (click the vimeo graphic a the top of the page for a nifty link) but will be put here as well.

cinematography derived from the greek words, "kinesis" movement and "grapho" to record. as such, I felt that titling my blag aamillergrapho was logical. yeah, my name is not legally "miller" at this point, but that's not a discussion for a blag post at this time.

(because some of us won't click the link, lets be honest)

so who am I? my name is Aaron Alexander Miller. I am a third year Film student at Grand Valley State University in Michigan. I enjoy watching movies (good thing, huh?), editing, listening to music (attempting to learn how to play it), video games, disc golfing, and snowboarding. I'm sure there are other things I end up doing (at least we can all hope). I'm a big fan of South Park and Lost (holy shit, little over one more day).

as far as my music selection is.. that's kinda a hard topic. I like a lot of music, though I don't like even more. at this moment, ben folds is playing, though I only listen to his live stuff since I really, really dislike his studio mixes. just sounds too produced. face it ben, you are a solo pianist. that's your charm, stop playing other instruments. strings are cool, but get away from the drums / synthy sounding things. modest mouse, the new pornographers (specifically their newest album "Challengers"), and sigur rós are probably my two favorite bands. have seen both live, sigur rós' show was one of my top 10 most magical moments of my life.

speaking of sigur rós, if you haven't seen their documentary Heima, I highly recommend it to you.

I'll be uploading the video requirement of this blag shortly, need to find one to re-compress. the starwars video was just a test, but I decided to leave it up for shits and giggles.

it's a very big possibility that I'll be rehosting the blag on a webhost of my choosing relatively soon (just gotta look around / ask if it's okay in regards to the class requirement) simply because I want more options into actually developing this into a professional grade web resumé / portfolio.

oh and i'm teaching myself css in order to make this, so there will be complications / issues that I am unaware of. if something screams out of place please let me know so I can struggle to learn what is wrong and how to fix it.

on that note, this is still a work in progress, since I haven't figured out several things that I want to add. including: video reel(!), making new pages so the links in the bar above actually go somewhere original), and a few tweaks to the formatting style here and there.
